Principles of ethics

The journal "Diagnostyka" operates on the basis of Polish and international copyright law. It is published in Open Access, which means that its content is freely available to all users without the need to seek special permission from the Authors or the publisher.

Editors follow the principles of ethics based on the COPE - Committee on Publication Ethics guidelines. These recommendations can be found at https://publicationethics.org.

Applying highest ethical standards in publishing practices is aimed at counteracting dishonesty and scientific misconduct, as well as presenting clear and truthful information about the authorship of published works and guaranteeing respect for copyright.

The author is obliged to present an original work made by him personally, which is not burdened with plagiarism or self-plagiarism, which means that the author cannot attribute to himself a work created by another person in whole or in part, or present his own work that has already been published or handed over to another publisher.

The author is also obliged to avoid practices such as ghost authorship and guest authorship, i.e. authorship, which omits people who are partially or entirely the authors of the text or contributing to the work, and guest authorship, meaning attributing authorship or co-authorship to people who did not contribute to the creation of the work.

It is unacceptable also to provide false, fictitious and unsupported information in the text proposed for publication.

In order to eliminate the possibility of committing plagiarism or self-plagiarism, the Editorial Board uses an anti-plagiarism system "iThenticate". If there are suspicions of plagiarism or self-plagiarism or other irregularities related to the authorship, the work is rejected.

The editorial office undertakes to respect the author's personal rights and to mark the authorship correctly and clearly.

The author who presents illustrative material together with the text of the publication is obliged to inform the Publishing House of its source and provide information on the legal status of the illustration. The final decision to use the illustrative material in the publication rests with the Editors.

The author is obliged to inform the Publishing House if his work was covered by subsidies granted by institutions, companies or other entities, and to provide the exact sources of financing.
